- Arm & Hammer Baking Soda. To clean a scorched pan, fill the cookware with warm water, stir in four tablespoons Arm & Hammer Baking Soda, and boil until the scorch marks bubble to the surface.
- Arm & Hammer Washing Soda and Murphy Oil Soap. To clean baked-on food from pots and pans, dissolve two tablespoons Arm & Hammer Washing Soda and three drops of Murphy Oil Soap in a sink filled with hot water. Soak the pots or pans in the solution for two hours. Wash as usual.
- Bon Ami. To clean burned-on food from pots and pans, soak dirty pots and pans for thirty minutes, wipe with a sponge sprinkled with Bon Ami to remove any caked-on food, and then wash as usual.
- Bounce. To clean burned-on food from a pan, fill the pan with hot water, lay a sheet of Bounce into the water, and let sit overnight. In the morning, the burned-on food will wipe right out.
- Clorox Bleach and Clabber Girl Baking Powder. To clean stains from nonstick pots and pans, mix ½ cup Clorox Bleach, two tablespoons Clabber Girl Baking Powder, and one cup of water. Pour the solution into the pot or pan, and boil for ten minutes without letting it bubble over the top. Wash clean with soapy water, and dry well.
- Heinz White Vinegar. To clean a burned pan, fill the pan with boiling water, add three tablespoons Heinz White Vinegar, and let sit overnight. In the morning, wipe clean with a sponge and rinse.
- Morton Salt. To clean burned-on food from the bottom of an enamel pot, cover the bottom of the pot with two inches of water, add five tablespoons Morton Salt, and let sit overnight. In the morning, boil the solution. Wash, rinse, and dry.
- Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. To clean baked-on stains from pots and pans, gently rub the stains with a damp Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, wash the item thoroughly with soapy water, rinse clean, and dry. Do not use the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on non-stick coatings on pots and pans.
- Play-Doh. To clean baked food from a frying pan, rub a ball of Play-Doh in the cool pan to remove the baked on food, and then wash the pan thoroughly with dishwashing soap and water. The combination of flour and salt in the Play-Doh cleans the pan.
- Simple Green. To clean baked-on food from pots, pans, and Dutch ovens, rinse the cookware to remove any loose food or drippings. Mix a ½ cup Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner and five cups water, and pour the solution into the cookware. Let it sit overnight. In the morning, wipe clean with a sponge, wash it clean with soapy water, and rinse well.
