- Arm & Hammer Baking Soda. To keep the inside of the refrigerator smelling sweet, place an open box of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda on the back of a middle shelf.
- Canada Dry Club Soda. To clean a stainless steel refrigerator, fill a trigger-spray bottle with Canada Dry Club Soda, spray the refrigerator, and wipe clean with a soft cloth. (For more ways to clean stainless steel, Click Here).
- Heinz White Vinegar. To clean the inside of the refrigerator clean and prevent mildew and odors, wipe the interior with a sponge or rag dampened with Heinz White Vinegar.
- Johnson's Baby Oil. To prevent the gasket (the white rubber trim around the inside of the refrigerator door) from drying up and cracking, give it a light coat of Johnson's Baby Oil.
- L'eggs Sheer Energy Panty Hose and Maxwell House Coffee. To deodorize a smelly refrigerator, cut off one foot from a clean, used pair of L'eggs Sheer Energy Panty Hose, fill it with Maxwell House Coffee grounds, tie a knot in the open end, and place the sachet on a shelf in the refrigerator. If you're leaving the house to go on vacation, unplug the refrigerator, leave the door open, and place the coffee sachet inside.
- McCormick Pure Lemon Extract. To freshen the air in a refrigerator, dampen a cotton ball with a few drops of McCormick Pure Lemon Extract, and place it on a saucer in the refrigerator.
- McCormick Pure Orange Extract. Looking for another way to freshen the air in a refrigerator? Dampen a cotton ball with a few drops of McCormick Pure Orange Extract, and place it on a saucer in the refrigerator.
- McCormick Vanilla Extract. Put a few drops of McCormick Pure Vanilla Extract on a cotton ball, and place it on a saucer in the refrigerator to freshen the air.
- Murphy Oil Soap. To clean a stainless steel refrigerator, pour a few drops of Murphy Oil Soap on a wet soft, clean cloth and rub the exterior of the refrigerator. Buff dry with another soft, clean cloth.
- Pam Cooking Spray. To move a heavy refrigerator on a vinyl, linoleum, or tile floor, spray the floor in front of the refrigerator with a small amount of Pam Cooking Spray so it glides easily.
- Tidy Cats. To deodorize the refrigerator, fill a bowl with Tidy Cats and set it on a shelf. The cat box litter absorbs odors.
- Turtle Wax. To make cleaning the exterior of the refrigerator easier, give the outside a coat of Turtle Wax and buff well.
- USA Today. To deodorize a smelly refrigerator, empty the refrigerator, fill it with crumpled up pages of USA Today, shut the door, and let sit undisturbed for several days. The newsprint absorbs the stench.
- Vaseline Petroleum Jelly. After cleaning the exterior of a stainless steel refrigerator, rub a thin coat of Vaseline Petroleum Jelly over the stainless steel and buff with a soft, clean cloth.
- WD-40. To clean a stainless steel refrigerator, wipe the exterior clean with a wet soft cloth, and then spray a little WD-40 on the stainless steel exterior and buff with a soft, clean cloth.
- Windex. To shine the chrome trim on a refrigerator, give a soft, clean cloth a spritz of Windex and wipe the chrome clean.
- Wonder Bread. To deodorize refrigerator odors, place a few slices of Wonder Bread on the back of a middle shelf in the refrigerator. The white bread absorbs odors.
